Faith Talk (ages 11 and up) by Merton P. Strommen and Charles Bruning
This set of 192 faith-sharing cards was designed to be a conversation starter for small groups of adults or youth (ages 11 and up), or between two individuals. It includes 48 share cards in each of four categories:
- Memories: You are asked to reveal significant experiences from the past that may have happened in church, church school, or church related events or to recall family traditions, customs, rituals, or experiences that happened in the home.
- Etchings: You are asked to reflect on experiences or events that have helped to shape your life. They may involve an influential person, a memorable event, or a life-changing experience that resulted in your faith becoming an affair of the heart.
- Values: You are asked to share ways that you feel God has moved in your life, which have impacted your values and belief system.
- Actions: You are encouraged to describe deeds of service you have seen, admired, or participated in, and to reflect on how these have had an impact on your life.
FaithTalk is a great companion piece to Making Disciples, but would also be useful in other settings: committee meetings, retreats, youth events, family devotions, family reunions, birthdays, church school, camping, travel time in the car, or intergenerational events.
