from Everyday Psalms
Interdependence (Psalm 19:7-14)

An underlying harmony,
a delicate equilibrium built on the value of every thing,
binds together past, present, and future.
There are no exceptions.
No one is above the universal law of interdependence.
Nothing stands alone.
Life dies and becomes new life.
Spirit and flesh are one.
My life is inextricably linked to yours,
and our common survival is tied to the trees and insects.

Prayer:
In the midst of our busy lives, sometimes we sense that we are falling apart. In those moments, Creator God, we are unable to look around us and appreciate the beauty of your creation and acknowledge all living elements that make our lives enjoyable. We need to educate ourselves to listen, to see, and to preserve each element of your creation. In doing so we express our love to you, who “watches over all who love him; to all who call on him in truth.” Amen.
